“Stronger Together”

Along the bustling streets of Malmö and in the heart of Gothenburg, Valbek Sweden has opened its doors to two new inspiring offices!

During the development of the interior design concept for the offices, the inspiration source was the company’s motto “Stronger Together”. The objective was to create a welcoming, professional atmosphere with a sense of unity and camaraderie in the shared spaces.

The main focus was on establishing open and accessible areas, furnished to encourage social interaction, collaboration and personal development.  The space also provides opportunity for more private workspaces for concentration and focused work.

Maximizing space, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment

In the quest to optimize space utilization, Valbek focused on specific needs balancing meeting rooms, focus areas and workspaces. The Malmö office, which boasts ample natural light underwent a strategic layout transformation. Curtains and blinds were introduced to control sunlight while creating a harmonious environment for all.  A significant portion of the furniture was sourced from a company specializing in recycled office furniture, aligning with Valbek’s commitment to sustainability.

The balance between open spaces and private work areas was a key in the design. In both Malmö and Gothenburg, the architects created a primary open office layout with the flexibility to use smaller focus rooms for those requiring space for concentration. Meeting rooms of varying sizes were strategically placed, ensuring adaptability for different team needs. The goal was to create a seamless work environment where the transition between workstations, focus rooms, and conference rooms is smooth and effortless.

When asked about the desired atmosphere upon entering the office, the response emphasized a warm and welcoming feeling. The interior architects aimed to make the office a place where employees choose to spend a significant amount of time, ensuring functionality and comfort.

Incorporating Company Identity into the Design

Valbek’s company identity played a crucial role in the design narrative. LED signs featuring the company’s logo became prominent elements, not only showcasing the brand but also adding a touch of recognition for both clients and company personnel. The color palette and materials were carefully chosen, drawing inspiration from the company’s logo and the overall aesthetics of the space, including exposed concrete floors and black glass partitions in Malmö and warmer tones and carpets in Gothenburg.

To instill a unified and harmonious atmosphere throughout the entire office, we selected a color palette derived from Valbek’s characteristic yellow, orange, and pink tones, albeit toned down and infused with more earthy hues. This strategic approach has resulted in a cohesive feeling that permeates the entire work environment. The chosen colors not only enhance the sense of unity but also directly connect to Valbek’s identity.

Managing Technical Details and Ergonomic Principles

The renovation of both office spaces provided an opportunity to address technical details comprehensively. The team prepared for future additions and room for growth, showcasing a forward-thinking approach. Ergonomic principles were paramount, with height-adjustable desks and adjustable chairs implemented in both open office spaces and focus rooms.

In the dual tales of the Malmö and Gothenburg offices, Valbek’s commitment to creating inspiring workspaces is evident. From responsible sourcing and a keen focus on corporate identity to the balance of open and private spaces, each decision has woven a narrative that reflects the company’s values and vision. As we step into these offices, we step into a space carefully crafted to be more than just a workplace, a true reflection of the Valbek Sweden journey.
